Abstract

The background of the problem in this study is the low motivation of students to learn with the signs of daydreaming and not enthusiastic in learning, playing smartphones during learning and undisciplined and passive in learning because of the long period of online learning previously. Therefore, the study is intended to investigate how the teachers’ role in motivating students to learn at MTs Al-Mujahidin in Gunung Bungsu and also find out the keys to the success of Islamic Studies teachers in motivating students to learn at MTs Al-Mujahidin in Gunung Bungsu. This is a qualitative study with a case study approach. The results of the study show that the role of Islamic Studies teachers at MTs Al-Mujahidin in Gunung Bungsu is by carrying out and doing their duties as good motivators. There are 5 keys to the success of the teachers in motivating students to learn at MTs Al-Mujahidin in Gunung Bungsu, namely: building a good relationship between teachers and students, adjusting the teaching style that students like, appying various methods of teaching, giving reflection to the students, being an expert in their field.
