Abstract

This research was motivated by lack of students environment care at senior high school 1 Perhentian Raja. It could be seen from some phenomenon: some students littering, did not flush the flower, let the weeds in the garden, lack of awareness in toilet cleanliness. The formulation in this research questioned how the role of Islamic education teacher in reinforcement of environment care character education for students at senior high school 1 Perhentian Raja Kampar regency. This research was qualitative with case study approach. The object in this research was the role of Islamic education teacher in reinforcement of environment-care character education for students at senior high school 1 Perhentian Raja. The main informant was Islamic education teacher at senior high school 1 Perhentian Raja that was Mr. Das Putra Oktania, S.Pd and Mr. Sunarya Rangga Putra, S.Hi. Data collection technique used interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis technique used reduction data, display data, and drawing conclusion and data validity. This research finding showed that the role of Islamic education teachers in reinforcement of environment-care character education that was giving understanding to students about the important to take care school environment, they gave motivation to students to take care the plant in school garden, they guided students to keep clean school environment, they gave advice to students who break the plant, arrange environment-care material, explained the implementation of 7K (kinship, clean, comfort, beautiful, safety, discipline, and shade), trained students to develop their skill to fix broken environment, and teacher trained students to do 4R activities (reduce, reuse, recycle, and replace) in effort to manage waste activity.
