Abstract

ABSTRACT AN ANALYSIS OF COMPENSATION IN IMPROVING EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AT THE NATIONAL BOARD OF ZAKAT (BAZNAS) IN PEKANBARU CITY HALIMATUSA'DIAH 172310210 Compensation is an award or income given by a company to its employees in the form of money, goods, or facilities as a reward for services and jobs that have been done. This study aims to analyze the compensation in improving employee performance. The type of this study is descriptive qualitative research, with the data process of analyzing, describing, and summarizing the situations and conditions. The data collection techniques used are interviews and observations. Based on the results of interviews and analysis on the provision of compensation in improving the employee performance at the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS), it is known that the provision of compensation consists of direct compensation and indirect compensation. The study shows that the provision of direct compensation in the form of basic payments, performance payments, and incentives can improve the employee performance. Then, the provision of indirect compensation in the form of protection programs, overtime pay and facilities can also improve the employee performance. It can be seen from the improvement of employee performance at the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) in Pekanbaru City in collecting and utilizing the funds of Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqah (ZIS). So, it can be concluded that both direct compensation and indirect compensation can improve the employee performance. The suggestion of this study is to maintain and increase the amount of compensation, considering the importance of compensation in improving employee performance.
