Abstract

ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT ON TEACHERâS PROFESSIONALISM AT ISLAMIC JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL DARUL HIKMAH PEKANBARU This research was motivated by the reality of teacher’s professional problem at Islamic junior high school Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. The symptoms could be seen from the lack of teacher’s professionalism, review from observation could me marked that most of students could not understand about teacher’s material presentation, headmaster always rebuked teachers because of their lack of competence in teaching, and teachers could not maximize their teaching time. Research problems questioned about is there any influence of emotional quotient on teacher’s professionalism at Islamic junior high school Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. The purpose in this research examined to know about the influence of emotional quotient on teacher’s professionalism at Islamic junior high school Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. This research used quantitative with correlational approach. The sample took by using saturated sampling, where all teachers became sample. The teachers’ number were less than 100 persons, and the sample was 70 teachers. In collecting data, it used questionnaire and documentation. The research finding showed that the hypothesis about the influence of emotional quotient on teacher’s professionalism was accepted with significant score less than 0.05 or 0.000 < 0.05. it meant that this research hypothesis was accepted. The influence score of emotional quotients on teacher’s professionalism could be seen from R Square score in (0.442 or 44.2%), it was in strong enough category. Then, others 55.8% from teacher professionalism influenced by others factors.
