Abstract
ABSTRACT Dira Elfitri, 2021. Thesis: Presupposition Analysis on the YouTube Podcast Channel Deddy Corbuzier with Novel Baswedan Presuppositions have an important role in the ongoing process communication, because a communication can be established well if the speaker and the interlocutor has the same presupposition or assumption about what they talk about. The similarity of assumptions can be influenced by context outside the language, such as background, culture, social, age, and others. That matter the background of the researcher choosing the title of Presupposition Analysis on Channel Youtube Podcast Deddy Corbuzier with Novel Baswedan. Problems in This research is how the existential, lexical, factive, nonfactive, structural, and counterfactual in conversations on the youtube channel Deddy Corbuzier podcast with Novel Baswedan. The purpose of this research to identify and describe existential, lexical, false, non-factive, structural, and counterfactual in conversations on the channel YouTube podcast Deddy Corbuzier with Novel Baswedan. The approach that used in this study is a qualitative approach with using content analysis method. The researcher's data collection technique used in this research are documentation techniques, listening techniques, and note. The results of this study indicate that, there are 66 utterances that contains presuppositions in the conversation between Deddy Corbuzier and Novel Baswedan. Of the 66 utterances then grouped according to type presuppositions according to the theory put forward by Yule. Found 16 utterances that are classified as existential presuppositions, 9 presuppositions lexical, 25 structural presuppositions mostly spoken by Deddy, 6 factive presuppositions, 9 non-factual presuppositions, and 1 counterfactual presupposition. Structural presuppositions are the most common because the object of research is: speech in podcasts that is looking for information and classifying something things by asking questions.
