Abstract

ABSTRACT Ayu Ramadhani Rambe, 2021, Thesis, Construction of Speaking Assessment in Indonesian Language Learning at the Junior High School Level, Marpoyan Damai District. The research entitled "Construction of Speaking Assessment in Indonesian Language Learning at the Junior High School Level, Marpoyan Damai District". The formulation of the problem is how to construct speaking assessment in Indonesian language learning at the junior high school level, Marpoyan Damai sub-district?. The purpose of this study was to construct a speaking assessment in Indonesian language learning at the Junior High School level, Marpoyan Damai District. The research method is phenomenology, qualitative approach. The theory used in this study is the notion of speaking, the notion of construction, speaking activities, and speaking assessment. In-depth interview data collection techniques and documentation. The data analysis technique of this research is Thematic Analysis using three stages, namely understanding the data, compiling codes and looking for themes in speaking assessment construction research. The results of the research on speaking assessment construction of descriptive text material on vocabulary aspects were assessed from spelling, pronunciation aspects were assessed from dialect, articulation and spelling, fluency aspects were assessed from conveying content and intonation, material aspects were assessed from retelling, intonation aspects were assessed from pauses, punctuation marks, and tone, the articulation aspect was assessed from the dialect and the pitch of the tone, and the speaking style aspect was assessed from the gesture/facial expression. While the construction of speaking assessment of speech text material on the vocabulary aspect is assessed from word choice (diction), pronunciation aspects are assessed from dialect, fluency aspects are assessed from mastering speech content and pronunciation, material aspects are assessed from themes, intonation aspects are assessed from punctuation, articulation, and pronunciation. the high/low tone of voice, the articulation aspect was judged by pronunciation, and the speaking style aspect was judged by gesture and diction. The conclusion of the research on speaking assessment construction in Indonesian language learning at the junior high school level, Marpoyan Damai District, is descriptive text with thirteen sub-themes and eleven-sub-theme speech texts.
