Abstract

ABSTRACT Dewi Melinda Sari, 2021, Thesis, Construction of Reading Assessment in Indonesian Language Learning at the State Junior High School Level in Marpoyan Damai District. The research entitled "Construction of Reading Assessment in Indonesian Language Learning at the State Junior High School Level in Marpoyan Damai District". The formulation of the problem is how to construct reading assessment in Indonesian language learning at the State Junior High School level in Marpoyan Damai District?. The aim is to construct a reading assessment in Indonesian language learning at the State Junior High School level in Marpoyan Damai District. The research method is phenomenology. Qualitative research approach. The data sources in this study were four Indonesian language teachers. The data collection techniques of this research are in-depth interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is thematic analysis with 6 stages, namely, 1) familiarizing yourself with the data, 2) generating initial codes, 3) searching for themes, 4) reviewing themes, 5) defining and naming themes, and 6) reporting the themes in the study. reading assessment construction. The results of the construction research on reading the news text material on the aspect of understanding the content of the text were assessed from the news element, and conveying the news content. Aspects of the meaningfulness of the narrative are assessed from the volume of the voice, facial expressions, and meaning. While the material for fiction and non- fiction books on the aspect of understanding the details of the content is assessed from making a resume, and reading books. Aspects of detailed understanding of content are assessed from understanding, aspects of organizational accuracy are assessed from sequence, aspects of diction accuracy are assessed from ability and word choice. Aspects of the accuracy of sentence structure assessed from conjunctions and punctuation. Aspects of spelling and writing are assessed from capital letters and punctuation, and aspects of the meaning of the narrative are assessed from the suitability of the contents of the book. The conclusion of the construction assessment of reading assessment in Indonesian language learning at the level of SMP Negeri in Marpoyan Damai Sub-district in the news text material there are 15 sub-themes and the fiction and non-fiction book material there are 11 sub-themes.
