Abstract

ABSTRACK WENDA RAHAYU (164210392), Analysis of Agro-Industry Business and Marketing of Jackfruit Chips (Case Study on Mother's New Business) in Kualu Nenas Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency Riau Province, Under the Guidance of Mr. Khairizal, SP., M.MA. Agroindustry is a business that processes agricultural commodities as raw materials that can increase added value. This study aims to analyze 1. Characteristics of entrepreneurs and business profile of jackfruit chips; 2. Availability of raw materials, production technology, production factors, production processes, production costs, production, income, efficiency, added value; 3. Marketing institutions, marketing channels, marketing functions, marketing costs, marketing margins, profit margins, marketing efficiency; This research uses a case study method, the location selection is done purposively. This research was conducted in Kualu Nenas Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency, starting from August 2020 to January 2021. The data sources used were primary data and secondary data. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that the age of the jackfruit chip agroindustry entrepreneur was in the unproductive group, which was 65 years. Education level for 4 years, business experience for 8 years, number of dependents 1 person. This business was founded in 2012 with a home industry business scale and own source of capital. The use of raw materials as much as 150 Kg / production process. The technology used is modern. The total cost is Rp. 1.112.862/production process. The production of jackfruit chips in one production process is 10 Kg from 150 Kg of fresh jackfruit and the selling price of jackfruit chips production is Rp. 140,000/Kg. Gross income of Rp. 1,400,000 and net income of Rp. 287,138/production process. Business efficiency is 1.25. The added value of the jackfruit chips agroindustry is Rp. 2.674/Kg with a value added ratio of 28.50%. The margin earned is Rp. 5,380 with the contribution of other inputs 50.29% and a profit of 37.15% in one production process. Marketing institutions involved in marketing jackfruit chips are entrepreneurs selling directly to consumers and to retailers. Marketing channel I: entrepreneur - retailer - consumer and marketing channel II: entrepreneur - consumer. The marketing functions carried out by entrepreneurs are sales, purchases, transportation, storage, capital, risk taking, standardization, market information. In the marketing channel I used a cost of Rp. 9.732,7/Kg with a marketing margin of Rp 20,000 and a profit margin of Rp 10.267,3/Kg with a marketing efficiency of 6,95%. Marketing channel II uses a fee of Rp. 6.867,7/Kg and has no margin nor does it have a profit margin because entrepreneurs sell directly to consumers and the efficiency is 4,90% where the marketing system is efficient.
