Abstract

Roads are a very important requirement in the traffic transportation system, both land, sea and air transportation. Lack of attention to safety issues will cause traffic accidents to increase. Therefore, long-term planning is needed to improve road facilities to reduce the number of accidents that occur in road areas that are prone to traffic accidents, especially in the Soekarno-Hatta road research area, Dumai City. The research method used is descriptive research with observation and documentation data collection techniques. The value of the Accident Rate for the largest Black Spot on the Bagan Besar - Bukit Nenas road is 0.37 but cannot be categorized as a Black Spot because it does not meet the standard probability = 0.736. The Accident rate for the black site of the Bagan Besar - Bukit Nenas road section is 0.08. This shows that the Bagan Besar-Bukit Nenas road is a Black Site point. The type of vehicle involved in the accident on the Soekarno - Hatta road, Dumai City, was most dominantly caused by a motorcycle hitting a truck/bus. The main factor causing traffic accidents is dominated by the human factor at 96.89% due to the lack of driver alertness and traffic disorder. The factor of accidents that occur on the Soekarno-Hatta road is the most dominant caused by the human factor itself because it drives vehicles at high speed and takes other vehicles.
