Abstract

ANALYSIS OF FORMALIN CONTENT IN WET NOODLES IN SOME TRADITIONAL MARKETS IN PEKANBARU CITY USING DRAGON FRUIT SKIN (Hylocereus polyrhizus) AS A SCIENCE TEACHING MATERIAL FOR SMP/MTs CLASS VIII ON ADDITIVE MATERIAL MAYSEN MENDANO NPM. 176510217 Biology Education Study Program Thesis Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Islamic University of Riau Supervisor : Dr.Hj. Sri Amnah, S.Pd, M. Si ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the analysis of formalin content in wet noodles in some traditional markets in Pekanbaru city using dragon fruit skin (Hylocereus polyrhizus) as a science teaching material for SMP/MTs class VIII on additive material. This study consisted of 2 stages, namely research on the content of formalin in wet noodles using dragon fruit skin and research on the development of teaching materials. This research uses research and development (R&D) step according to Sugiyono. The subjects of this research are traders in the central market, cikpuan market, kodim market, sail market and tangor market in Pekanbaru city and the subject of teaching materials were students of class VIII MTsN 1 Pekanbaru, MTsN 2 Pekanbaru and MTsN 3 Pekanbaru. The research data was obtained from validation sheets which were assessed by material experts, learning experts and science teachers, and student response questionnaires obtained from the results of a limited trial from students. The results of the developed student worksheets research show the quality of validity based on the results of validation by material experts with an average of 93,75% categorized as very valid. The results of validation by learning experts with an average of 86,11% are categorized as very valid, the results obtained from the three teachers get a percentage of 99,07% categorized as very valid and the test results on students get an average percentage of 96,97% categorized as very good. Based on this, it can be concluded that the student worksheets developed is very valid and has been suitable for use as student worksheets that can help teachers and students in the teaching and learning process.
