Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Good Corporate Governance as measured by Managerial Leadership, Institutional Ownership, Independent Commissioners, and Leverage on the financial performance of Islamic banking as measured by using Return On Assets (ROA). The sample used in this study is a sharia banking company, namely Sharia Commercial Bank (BUS) based on statistics published by Bank Indonesia as of December 2018. The observation period in this study is from 2014 to 2018. The sampling technique was carried out using a purposive sampling method. A total of 8 banks were determined as samples. The Random Effect Model method contained in eviews 10. And the results of the study show that the independent variables of Managerial Leadership and Leverage have a significant effect on financial performance as measured by Return on Assets (ROA). Meanwhile, the independent variables of institutional ownership and independent commissary have no significant effect on financial performance as measured by Return on Assets (ROA).
