Abstract

In Indonesia, the teaching profession besides serving in teaching also plays an important role in the family, namely as a mother and wife. Work-family conflict is a role conflict that is felt by a woman who must be able to complete responsibilities at the same time so that she ignores other roles as a result one of the roles is not resolved, for example work that is required to work overtime. The level of work-family conflict can be influenced by several internal or external factors, one of which is work stress. Work stress is an individual's physical and psychological fatigue that causes individuals to quickly feel tired at work and psychologically mental decline due to anxiety in completing work. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between work-family conflict and work stress on female teachers. This research uses quantitative research with the number of respondents is 200 female teachers in Bangkinang Kota District. Researchers determine the subject with a Probability Sampling study with cluster random sampling technique. In collecting data, the work-family conflict scale was compiled by (Farradinna, 2016) with the number of items 18 and the work stress scale compiled by (Davin, 2019) with the number of items 23. The data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation with the results obtained by the correlation coefficient R = 0.616 with a p value of 0.000 (p <0.05). The results of this hypothesis are accepted. With the results of R2 = 0.380 or 38 percent. So that work-family conflict can contribute to work stress.
