Abstract
With the application of an e-KTP, it is no longer possible for every resident to have more than one e-KTP and/or a falsified e-KTP considering that the e-KTP contains a security code and an electronic record of population data, which includes irises and fingerprints of residents The purpose of this study was to describe the quality of e-KTP making services at the Population and Civil Registration Service in the Meranti Islands Regency. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis techniques, qualitative research is a process that is more intended to understand human problems in a social context by creating and presenting a comprehensive and complex picture, reporting detailed views from informant sources, and carried out naturally without any intervention from the author, with interviews and observations as data collection tools, with the results of the study obtaining the conclusion that in the implementation of controlling e-KTP at the Department of Population and Civil Registration of Meranti Islands Regency, there are still several obstacles such as lack of socialization to the public. the community is tied to the online system in managing several services, one of which is managing the e-KTP control and also blank forms that are complained by the community which makes the e-KTP issuance time longer.
