Abstract
Pedagogic competence in the form of a set of abilities in managing learning for students includes; learning understanding, planning, implementation, and evaluation of student development learning. This pedagogic competence is one of the most important competencies that support the level of success of the teaching and learning process in the classroom. Students as future teacher candidates are required to be able to follow the changes that occur in their learning. As with the current conditions, the implementation of this field practice program is to help students to better prepare themselves to be creative and innovative in developing and improving the quality of their learning. So that the material taught can be conveyed and understood by students well. The title of this research is "The Correlation of the Level of Understanding of Pedagogic Competence with the PPL Results of Class 2017 Students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program, Riau Islamic University." The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is a relationship between the understanding of pedagogical competence and the results of PPL for 2017 students of the Indonesian language education study program, Riau Islamic University. The purpose of this study is to describe, analyze, and interpret systematically and in detail the relationship between understanding pedagogic competence and PPL results for 2017 students of the Indonesian language education study program, Islamic University of Riau. Thus, an objective picture is obtained of the relationship between the level of understanding of pedagogical competence and the results of the PPL of 2017 students in the Indonesian language education study program at the Islamic University of Riau. The theory used in this research is (Musfah, 2011), (Sagala, 2010) for pedagogic competence, and the calculation of the correlation uses theory (Febliza and Zul, 2015) and (Prayitno, 2014). The sample used was 103 students of the 2017 class of Indonesian language education study programs. This study uses quantitative methods with product moment correlation analysis. The results in this study show a relationship between understanding pedagogic competence and PPL results for 2017 students of the Indonesian language education study program with an r_xy value of 0.286 with a low interval.
