Abstract

Parking is one element of the facility that can not be separated from the road transportation system as a whole. With the increase in the population of a city will cause an increase in the need to carry out various activities. Most residents in big cities carry out activities or travel by using private vehicles so that it indirectly requires an adequate number of parking spaces. The location in this research is in Teluk Kuantan Modern Market, Kuantan Singingi Regency where this location is one of the centers of business and trade. As for in this case the author will examine the impact of parking space requirements on the Teluk Kuantan Modern Market, Kuantan Singingi Regency where every day in the area around the Teluk Kuantan Modern Market, Kuantan Singingi Regency is always colored with traffic jams. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a deductive approach and the type of research is summative evaluation. Data collection techniques using interviews, literature and observation. The sampling technique was based on purposive sampling technique and simple random sampling technique. Based on data collection in the field, the parking characteristics can be seen as follows. The majority of parking duration is more than 2 hours, the most accumulation of parking in one hour occurs on August 23, 2022 at 10.00-12.00 as many as 309 vehicles, the highest parking volume occurs on August 22, 2022 at 10.00-12.00 at 249 vehicles/hour, static capacity parking facilities are 168 SRP, the parking index is 183.9%, the turn over that occurs is 1.48 times, and the occupancy value that exceeds 100% occurs at 08.00-10.00 (August 23, 2022), 10.00-12.00 (22-24 August 2022), and 12.00-14.00 (August 22-24 2022). Parking Space Requirement (KRP) using the Hobbs method (1995) through the calculation of parking characteristics is 223 SRP and according to the Technical Implementation Guidelines.
