Abstract

B30 fuel is Biodiesel fuel for Diesel engine/motor applications in the form of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) made from biodiesel and diesel oil through an esterification/transesterification process. To increase fuel consumption and exhaust emissions, it is necessary to add additives. Additives are materials that are added to motor vehicle fuel, both gasoline engines and diesel engines. The percentage of additives in B30 fuel aims to obtain the optimum mixture of additives for fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. In this study, the percentage of additives were 0 pills/liter, pills/liter, 1 pill/liter, 1 pills/liter and 2 pills/liter using B30 fuel on the Diesel engine ISUZU TLD 54. The results showed that the highest fuel consumption at 2000 rpm was 3.42 kg in B30 fuel without additives with the same rotation at the lowest fuel consumption at 2.93 kg/hour in B30 fuel using 2 pills. /liter. Fuel consumption for each addition of additives occurs linearly in the diesel fuel consumption degradation. This is because the additives increase the calorific value of the fuel so that the combustion in the combustion chamber is more complete. The highest exhaust gas emission of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) was in B30 fuel (0 pills/liter) and at 500 rpm, while the addition of 1½ Pills/Liter of Additives and 2000 rpm reduced the toxic levels of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx). This is because the combustion in the combustion chamber is cleaner with the addition of 1 Pills/Liter of Additives
