Abstract

This research is about the effect of Digital Poster Canva toward students’ writing ability of announcement at the tenth grade students of SMA YLPI Pekanbaru in academic year 2020/2021. The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of Digital Poster Canva toward students’ writing ability of announcement. The design of this research is Pre-Experimental research which used One Group Pretest-Posttest. In One Group Pretest-Posttest, Firstly the researcher gave a pre-test to the group that would give treatment, then researcher conduct treatment, after finishing treatment, the researcher gave a post-test. The technique to analyze the data was using SPSS version 24. The result of this research showed the mean score in the pre-test was 56.82 and there was 3.6 % (1 students) who got the score ≥ 82 and the mean score in post-test was 88.21, and there was 89.3 % (25 students) who got score ≥ 82, it indicated that the scores and the mean in post-test were better than pre-test. The finding scores of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000. It made the null hypothesis will be rejected and alternative hypothesis will be accepted, which may be conclude that there is a significant effect by using Digital Poster Canva toward students’ writing ability at the tenth grade students of SMA YLPI Pekanbaru.
