Abstract
Koto Tinggi, Gunung Emas District is one of mass movement prone area in Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The steep slope condition is one of the main causes in the area. Coupled with inappropriate mass use, namely the construction of settlements on steep cliff slopes increasing the risk of landslides that can cause property and life lost. Moreover, Lima Puluh Kota Regency is a developing district, one of which is in the field of agriculture. The availability of complete and accurate information on the vulnerability zones of mass movements along with policies that can be used as a basis for any development activities is very necessary to prevent and minimize the loss of life and economic impacts caused by it to be able to anticipate these things need to be reviewed a deeper understanding of the potential disasters of the mass movement in hopes of not worsening the conditions of development carried out in the area. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the topography of the research area, to determine the influence of soil control factors and the development of the vulnerability of soil movement in the area. The methodology used in this study is based on the results of the weighted values of 4 parameters, namely lithology, morphology, buffer structure and land use. Based on the results of data processing obtained output in the form of a vulnerability zone map of the study area which shows 3 vulnerability zones of mass movement, namely the low, medium and high mass movement vulnerability zones.
