Abstract

The current road planning problem that occurs is that the use of pavement materials in accordance with the specified Bina Marga specifications is starting to be a bit difficult to obtain, because there are many roads that need to be improved and the lack of available materials on the market. Efforts to improve the pavement material are carried out studies of other materials that can be added to the road pavement in accordance with the specified specifications. In this study, we added granite tile ash material because the material has a dense and hard structure, is impermeable to water, and contains SiO4 which can bind other particles into very strong ions. The study used 60/70 penetration asphalt from PT. Pertamina, aggregate from PT. RMB, and granite tile from house construction waste using marshall equipment and the 2010 Bina Marga specification Revision 3. The study was carried out according to laboratory procedures on June 10, 2020, researchers chose Bina Marga 2010 Revision 3 because the latest specifications of Bina Marga 2018 Revision 1 still use the same data on hot asphalt mixes and will be refined again in Bina Marga 2018 Revision 2 specifications at the end of the year 2020. The manufacture and testing was carried out 2 times, the first with asphalt content of 4.5%, 5%, 5.5%, 6%, and 6.5% to obtain the optimum asphalt content (KAO), the second with the addition of granite ash content tile (AGT) and ordinary stone ash (ABS) with various mixing levels of X1 is 0% AGT + 100% ABS, X2 is 25% AGT + 75% ABS, X3 is 50% AGT + 50% ABS, X4 is 75% AGT + 25% ABS, and X5 is 100% AGT + 0% ABS to fine aggregate (FA) to get the characteristic result of Laston AC-WC mixture. Based on the results of the research, the results obtained that meet the specifications of Bina Marga 2010 Revision 3, namely the X3 variation with a balanced mixing level, but produce a high stability value which can cause the pavement mixture to become stiff and crack easily. For the best results, namely the X4 variation because the results of the stability, flow, VMA and MQ parameters have good values, the VIM and VFA values are not too bad. And the X1, X2, and X5 variants produce VIM and VFA that do not meet the requirements, because they produce larger voids between aggregates (VMA), resulting in more air voids (VIM) and more limited voids filled with asphalt (VFA). occurs because compaction is not carried out optimally.
