Abstract

This research uses the Self Healing Concrete method where concrete is expected to be able to repair it self from crack damage by utilizing bacteria obtained from vegetable waste extract. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of vegetable waste extract on the compressive strength of concrete, to find out whether by adding vegetable waste extract variations of 3%, 5%, 7%, and 9% still meet the specified slump value of 30-60 mm and find out changes in cracks in concrete mixed with vegetable waste extract in the process of self-healing concrete. This research is experimental (reserch) which was carried out in the laboratory with reference to SNI 03-2834-2000 with cube-shaped test objects as many as 27 samples. The treatment life is 28 days and a press test will be carried out. The recovery of cracks in concrete is only seen visually by shooting. As a result of this study, the compressive strength of concrete without being crushed variations of 0%, 3%, 5%, 7%, 9% respectively is 36.48 Mpa, 32.66 Mpa, 36.21 Mpa, 26.77 Mpa, 29.81 Mpa, while the compressive strength of concrete is attenuated variation of 3%, 5%, 7%, 9% respectively is 39.27 Mpa, 37.74 Mpa, 31.99 Mpa, 28.14 Mpa. The slump value in normal concrete has a value of 40 mm, in concrete variations of 3%, 5%, 7%, 9% successively are 36.67 mm, 36.67 mm, 36.67 mm, 31.67 mm, while cracked concrete has a variation slump value of 3%, 5%, 7%, 9% respectively is 33.33 mm, 40 mm, 51.67 mm, 51.67 mm. Recovery of cracks in concrete, which is seen visually with treatment for 28 days, can seal cracks that are the size of a hair on concrete.
