Abstract

Most of the people in Pekanbaru City use motorbikes as a means of transportation which is widely used because it is easily accessible by the community’s economy, facilitates punctuality and makes it easier to reach remote areas. Road safety issues are closely related to traffic because they can cause accidents. Factors that influence the accident rate are the dominant errors and negligence by humans, due to behavior while driving and the level of awareness of traffic rules is lacking. The purpose of this study was to determinate the behavior of at risky drivers, the error factors that influence the behavior of motorcycle drivers an prevention efforts towards safety aspects in traffic. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with data collection methods carried out by field observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Researchers distributed questionnaires to 100 respondents who are people of Pekanbaru City. The questionnaire consists of 38 statements consisting of one variable, namely the behavior of risky drivers. The research used in distributing this questionnaire uses a Likert scale. The answers from each respondent were then processed using the IBM SPSS Statistics application, which was tasted for validity and reliability. From the results of research conducted on 100 respondents there are various variations of different behaviors. The results obtained are that highest mean value is 4.05 with the statement ‘I stop when the traffic light signal is red’. Based on the results of the responses of the respondents, it can be concluded that the people in Pekanbaru City are mostly well behaved in driving motorbikes.
