Abstract

EVALUATION OF GRAVEL PACK USING REVERSE CIRCULATION METHOD IN THE TOTAL LOSS CIRCULATION WELL IN XY FIELD ARTHA RAHADITYA GRIBALDI 143210433 ABSTRACT The problem of sandiness is an important thing to overcome. The problem of sandiness can result in a decrease in the value of production at the production well, especially the total well of circulation loss in the XY field. The problem of sandiness occurs in the total circulation loss wells due to unconsolidated rock types in the well layer in the XY field which have cementation of very fine grain size. The impact of loss of circulation if the action is not carried out, among others, is hampering the drilling work process, adding costs, increasing work time, losing some or all of the gravel slurry into the formation zone. However, when pumping gravel slurry there are a number of problems including the loss of some or all of the gravel slurry into the formation commonly known as lost circulation. For this reason, an appropriate method is needed to overcome lost circulation when pumping gravel slurry so that production in a well can increase again. The method commonly used to overcome the problem of lost circulation is the gravel pack method, this method is done with the aim to stop the movement of formation sand. In this study, the calculation of the number of gravel sand to be pumped and the number of gravel sand lost and the success of countermeasures using the gravel pack method.
