Abstract

With the decline in hydrocarbon resources from conventional reservoirs, hydrocarbon development has shifted to unconventional reservoirs, one of which is a narrow reservoir. In order to optimize and streamline the yield of oil in unconventional reservoirs, horizontal drilling and well completion with multi-stage hydraulic fracturing must be carried out and pay attention to the sensitivity of the well spacing. One of the problems in non-conventional field development is that the production rate rapidly decreases when primary recovery is carried out, so one of the next steps to take is to carry out Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) with the CO2 injection method. The purpose of this study is to see the value of MMP to inject CO2 to occur in conditions that can be damaged, the dangers that can be touched on the recovery factor from the injection carried out, and to see the effect of well completion sensitivity both spacing and hydraulic fracturing design on recovery factors. This research was conducted using reservoir simulation, namely with Computer Modeling Group (CMG), with several production scenarios, namely by performing primary recovery, waterflood injection, CO2 injection, and CO2 injection with waterflood at different well distances, namely 1066 ft with 7 wells. (3 injection wells), 1558 ft and 2050 ft with 5 wells (2 injection wells). The results obtained from this study are, the MMP value is 1750 psi. Of the four methods with different well spacing, the CO2 injection method with a well spacing of 1558 feet has a maximum cumulative oil of 4,349,490 bbl with a recovery factor of 10.17%. Well completion from well spacing and hydraulic fracture design affect the cumulative value of oil, it is obtained that the well distance is 1558 ft with the average value of oil recovery from each method with the most optimal results using a half-length design on hydraulic fracturing of 400 ft.
