Abstract

Supervisor Communication Style with Employees in Improving the Performance of Indomaret Outlet Employees in Siak City Erdin Pramudya Juliantara (169110056) This research was conducted to see the communication style applied by supervisors to employees of Indomaret outlets in Siak city. This research was conducted to describe, provide analysis, and see how the implementation of the communication style between supervisors and employees in improving the performance of employees at Indomaret outlets in Siak city. In this research, by using qualitative methods, in which this method aims to get an understanding of social reality from the perspective of the participants, with data collection techniques that include interviews, observation, and documentation. The data validity technique used triangulation technique. The number of informants in this study consisted of eleven people, consisting of one supervisor, five shop heads, and five other assistant shop heads. These informants were taken based on the Indomaret outlets in Siak City, which totaled five outlets. The research subjects were selected through the Purpose Sampling technique. This study uses the classical theory according to Steward L. Tubbs and Sylvia Moss. The results of this study indicate that there are four communication styles applied by supervisors, namely the equalitarian style of communication. It shows the characteristics of communication occur in two directions, is open, channeling good information, has high empathy, accepts ideas and ideas, and maintains empathy. The structuring style with the characteristics of impartiality or fairness, follows the structure, solidifying the company's goals. The dynamic style with the characteristics of controlling and aggressive, creates an attitude of action, effectively resolves problems, works more productively. The relinguishing style
