Abstract

Polymer injection was carried out to increase oil recovery after decreased production. Geographically, the AFL field is located in Indragiri Hulu Regency which has passed the secondary recovery with an estimated oil in place of 328,542.4 MSTB, 170.426.5 MSTB recoverable reserve with an recovery factor of 51.9% Cumulative oil production of 135,856.8 MSTB. One of the activities that need to be carried out in chemical injection is the selection of the right and efficient production-injection well pattern to be applied in the field. For this reason, a reservoir simulation study was carried out by comparing the normal and inverted five spot using variations in polymer concentrations of 500ppm, 1000ppm, and 1500ppm and injection rates of 4000bpd, 5000bpd, and 6000bpd. To determine the best scenario based on the largest oil recovery factor that can be applied to the AFL Field by looking at the results of the cumulative changes in oil obtained and water cut. Based on the simulation results obtained from the maximum tilapia cumulative oil in the inverted 5 spot with a concentration of 1500 ppm and an injection rate of 6000 bpd is 69757.4 bbl and the minimum water cut in the inverted 5 spot with a concentration of 1500 ppm and an injection rate of 6000 bpd is 94 ,81 %. While the maximum value of cumulative oil model 5 spot normal with a concentration of 1500 ppm and an injection rate of 6000 bpd, which is 310241bbl and the minimum value of water cut model 5 spot normal with a concentration of 1500 ppm and an injection rate of 6000 bpd, which is 92.78%. 5. From the research, it can be seen that the higher the concentration of polymer used, the higher the cumulative oil followed by a high decrease in water cut .
