Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of teaching arts and culture (Music Percussion) class X IPS 1 SMAN 1 Kuantan Mudik Kab. Kuantan Singingi Prov. Riau. The theory used is the theory of Oemar Hamalik (2014), namely in the teaching and learning process the teacher must be guided by: curriculum, syllabus, lesson plans, methods, and assessments. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. There are 3 data collection techniques taken, namely Observation, Interview and Documentation techniques. The research subjects were 30 people, namely 1 teacher and 29 students in class X IPS 1. The results of this study showed that teachers in carrying out teaching (music percussion) in class X IPS 1 were in accordance with the learning tools and curriculum, namely the 2013 curriculum and following the The learning process is in accordance with government regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic. The lesson plans prepared by the teacher are lesson plans, while the syllabus is provided by the government. The material taught is Percussion Music using the Scientific method, because students are required to be more active and creative in the learning process. In the teaching and learning process, we still adhere to the health protocols that apply in schools. The infrastructure used by teachers in the implementation of cultural arts teaching (Percussion Music) are textbooks, laptops, gallons, aqua bottles filled with rice, iron chopsticks, bamboo, glass bottles, large paint buckets, recorders, pianos, and guitars. Meanwhile, in the evaluation of teachers using three aspects, namely spiritual and social assessment instruments, knowledge and skills. In the implementation of music teaching, 24 students achieved the KKM (good category) with a percentage of 88.00%, while those who did not reach the KKM (good enough category) were 5 students with a percentage of 28.20%.
