Abstract

This study aims to analyze the existence of the Sapin Bagan Traditional Dance in Bagan Hulu Bagan Siapi-api Village, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. Existence is everything that has existed from the beginning until now, both objects and humans. Sapin Bagan dance is a dance originating from Bagan Siapi-api, Rokan Hilir Regency. This dance has existed since the days of the Siak Sultanate and is still being preserved. This Sapin Bagan traditional dance in the 2000s began to be taught to children around Jalan Bulan, Bagan Hulu Bagan Siapi-api village Rokan Hilir District, Riau Province. Then the movements in the Sapin Bagan Traditional Dance have not changed at all and the meaning contained in the dance is still the same. From the results of the analysis in the field, it was concluded that the researcher raised the existence of the Sapin Bagan Traditional Dance in Bagan Hulu Bagan Siapi-api Village, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The formulation of this research is: How is the existence of the Sapin Bagan Traditional Dance in Bagan Hulu Bagan Siapi-api Village, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province?. This study uses a qualitative method that uses data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The conclusion of the existence of the Sapin Bagan Traditional Dance in the Bagan Hulu Bagan Siapi-api Village, Rokan Hilir Regency, can be seen from the existence of the historical aspect, the existence of the religious aspect, the existence of the traditional aspect and the existence of the community aspect.
