Abstract

The indigenous legal system is known as customary law to emphasize the boundaries between customary law and customary law, which can be defined as a habit, namely if the act is done repeatedly so that it is called a habit. social law created and maintained by the authoritative and valid legal functionaries of the rulers and applies to the regulation of legal relations in Indonesian society. Based on the background of the problem that the authors describe above, the authors apply the following main problems: first, how to carry out marriage according to customary law in Inner Sangeri. Second, what are the factors that cause the continuity of tribal marriages in the Sangeri Indigenous Community. Third, what are the consequences of the implementation of tribal marriages on the Sangeri maid. This type of research is empirical legal research, namely research that examines the Implementation of Ethnic Marriages According to Customs in Sangeri Inners in Pelalawan Regency. Meanwhile, when viewed from the nature of the research, it is descriptive analysis, which describes the state of the subject and object of research based on the facts that exist at the present time. Implementation of Marriage According to customary law, the Pematin Sangeri still holds meetings if the community wants to have an ethnic marriage, some of the indigenous people of the Batin Sangeri in the village of Terentang Manuk still prohibit ethnic marriage, even though the implementing party wants to carry it out, it will be negotiated and the punishment will be determined. Meanwhile, regarding the factors that cause ethnic marriage, one of which is because they are attracted to each other and also the lack of extensive customary knowledge that causes tribal marriages to occur, broad customary knowledge will form a good mindset so that with this customary knowledge, knowledge can be provided for reason. and thoughts in action and fines that can still be given are within reach of the community. Meanwhile, the consequences of the implementation of tribal marriages in Pemantin Sangeri caused many things and damaged the tribe, causing the strain of sibling relations and causing many unfavorable views about the tribal marriage.
