Abstract

KOMPANG MUSIC PERFORMANCE AT TEPUNG TAWAR COMMUNITY WEDDING AT REMPAK VILLAGE SABAK AUH DISTRICT SIAK DISTRICT RIAU PROVINCE This study aims to describe how the form of Kompang Music Performance is a traditional art that develops in its supporting community, namely in Rempak Village, Sabak Auh District, Siak Regency. The type of this research is qualitative research, namely through observation and interviews. The result of the research is the Kompang Music Performance which has always been developing from a long time ago until now in Rempak Village, Sabak Auh District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. Especially in the wedding ceremony which is always used and has become a characteristic in a wedding in the Rempak village area, and one of which is being researched is the Tepuk Tepung Tawar ceremony in the wedding ceremony In addition, Kompang music is also used in the village area of Rempak as accompaniment for the groom's arak to the bride's house, as a welcome to high-ranking officials, as an accompaniment to parades such as the MTQ ta'ruf parade, the balimau kasai parade which is held to welcome the holy month of Ramadan. The Kompang Music Performance on the Tepuk Tepung Tawar in the wedding ceremony in Rempak Village, Sabak Auh District, which consists of 12 to 14 players who have a group called PKPKR, this Kompang music is classified as music belonging to the community. The elements contained in this Kompang musical performance are the first form of the Kompang musical performance itself, the second is the player, the third is the stage or the place of the player, the fourth is the property, the fifth is the player's outfit, the six is the make-up, the seventh is music. , and the eighth audience. As for those interviewed totaled 7 people, 1 head coach of Kompang named Herizal 38 years, 2 members of Kompang music player named Ilham Apriadi 16 years and Iqbal Khairullah 17 years, and the rest are community leaders named Abu Sofyan 58 years old, Asrol 50 years old , and Maya Sulastri 27 years. This research is supported by theories that aim to make the results of a literature related to the problems under study.
