Abstract

PT Riau Perkasa Steel, Siak Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar Regency is a company that has steel smelting and milling activities, which employs a workforce of 120 people. Where it is known from one of the workers in the company, who is a worker, stated that the workers held a demonstration to demand an increase in wages, especially in overtime pay, this is because the wage is still not in accordance with the work that has been done by the worker. The company only provides overtime wages of Rp. 15. 000, (fifteen thousand) for 1 hour of work, while workers work an additional 4 hours. The main problem of research is How Legal Protection Against Wages in terms of Law No. 13 of 2003 concerning Employment at PT. Riau Perkasa Steel, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency, and What Are the Inhibiting Factors in Legal Protection Against Wages Viewed From Law No. 13 of 2003 concerning Employment at PT. Riau Perkasa Steel, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. The research method is observational research, namely by means of survey or direct review to the research location using data collection tools, namely interviews and questionnaires. Meanwhile, it is descriptive in nature, that is, research is intended to provide a detailed, clear and systematic description of the main research problems. The results showed that the Legal Protection Against Wages in terms of Law No. 13 of 2003 concerning Employment at PT Riau Perkasa Steel, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency is not fully implemented in accordance with the provisions because the wages with working hours are not balanced, especially in terms of overtime wages and overtime as in the Manpower Act in Article 78 letter b, namely working time overtime can only be done a maximum of 3 hours in 1 day and 14 hours in 1 week. However, the company employs overtime for its workers, sometimes up to 4 hours in 1 day with wages of Rp. 15,000 / hour. Even though there are violations of overtime working hours, the implementation of legal protection for workers who work beyond the overtime limit has been carried out by the company, namely by asking for the approval of the worker who wants to overtime, the stipulated overtime wage, providing adequate rest opportunities, and providing compensation in the form of food and drinks when workers do overtime work, and the Inhibiting Factor in Legal Protection of Wages in terms of Law No. 13 of 2003 concerning Employment at PT Riau Perkasa Steel, Siak Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar Regency, is due to the lack of optimal performance of workers to work on a production of goods and the lack of labor owned by the company at this time.
