Abstract
Child Violence at the Orphanage (Overview of Child Protection Case Study Orphanages in Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru ABSTRACT Nanang Abdul Rahman 137510144 Orphanages are a very popular institution for shaping the development of children who do not have a family or who do not life with the famiy. However, there are still many violent practices that occur in the orphanage, but only a few are reported or exsposed in the community. As happened at the X Orphanage in Pekanbaru City. It was anly revealed when there were casualties. Through a qualitative research approach, by conducing in-depth interviews with several informants, it was answered that what became a factor in the emergence of violence at Panti Asuhan X Pekanbaru City was that the perpetrator felt he had personal motivation, the thought that there was an appropriate target, so there was no effevtive guarding system. This is consistent with the explanation of routine activity theory.
