Abstract

THE EFFECT OF DEMOGRAPHIC FACTORS ON FINANCIAL LITERATION (Case Study of Retail Traders SMEs in Kec. Singingi Hilir Kab. Kuantan Singingi) By : Ella Elyana Puspita 155210670 This study aims to determine and identify the demographic factors that influence the level of literacy and identify the level of financial literacy Retail Traders SMEs in Kec. Singingi Hilir Kab. Kuantan Singingi. The sampling technique is purposive sampling with a sample size of 100 businesses. The method used is survey by obtaining data through questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used in this study are SMARTPLS 3.2.8 tools. The results of this study are the t-statistical value of the influence of demographic factors on financial literacy of 7.213, which value is greater than the t-table value of 1.98 for a significance value of 0.05 (5%). Demographic factors consisting of education level, income level, Duration and age significantly influence financial literacy consisting of basic knowledge of finance, savings and loans, insurance and investment. This is evidenced by the r square obtained 0.402 or 40.2% while the remaining 59.8% is influenced by other variables not included in this study. And at the level of financial literacy of retail traders in the downstream singing district of Kuantan singingi district, the respondents in this study belong to the high category.
