Abstract
THE ROLE OF THE HEAD OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATICS, STATISTICS AND PUBLIC SERVICES AS AN OFFICIAL MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTATION IN INFORMATION SERVICES IN PEKANBARU CITY ABSTRACT Gusmansyah Openness of public information is an important manifestation of a democratic state that upholds people's sovereignty in optimizing public oversight of the administration of the state and other public bodies mandated in Law Number 14 of 2008. Public Information Management Officers (PPID) are officers authorized to carry out information provision services public. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the Role of the Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID) in the Public Information Provision Service in Pekanbaru City. The research method uses qualitative research methods as a technique for data collection and direct interviews with informants as the Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID). The results showed that the role of Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) in realizing public information disclosure in Pekanbaru City was in accordance with Law Number 14 of 2008 and Pekanbaru Mayor Regulation Number 10 of 2017 concerning Management of Information and Documentation Services in Pekanbaru City Government . Nevertheless there are still obstacles encountered in the implementation process, both technical and non-technical obstacles. The results of this study suggest that Pekanbaru should be added to the staff / human resources in the IT field, adding a separate room for activity and data storage for PPID Assistants. and creating a data bank that has been validated by the OPD official in charge so that information can be presented at any time and makes it easier for the public to access public information.
