Abstract

THE EFFECT OF ADDING ASH SUGAR CANE ON CONCRETE ASPHALT MIXTURE IN MARSHALL PROPERTIES WISNU WARDANA NPM : 143110702 Abstract In general concrete asphalt layer (Laston) is a coating on road construction consisting of hard asphalt mixture, coarse aggregate, smooth aggregate and filler. The common Material is used as filler in the concrete mixture of stone ash, cement/pozzolan, and lime. Therefore, researchers want to use other alternative materials in lieu of the filler ash of the ashes of sugar cane. The ashes of sugarcane is the ashes of the combustion of sugar cane that contains silica and can bind the ingredients. This research aims to determine the influence of the use of ash filler sugar cane in AC-BC mixture. This research was conducted using the Marshall Test method and refers to the general specification of Bina Marga 2010 (Revision 2), this research was conducted in Civil Engineering Laboratory of Islamic University of Riau with a percentage of the use of ash filler of sugar cane (100% ash), (75% stone ash + 25% ash sugar cane), (50% of the stone ash + 50% ash sugar cane), (25% of the stone Ash + 75% ash sugar cane) Test result of filter analysis obtained gross aggregate of 30.00%, medium aggregate 16.41%, stone ash 46.38%, sand 7.21% and variation of asphalt content of 5.0%; 5.5%; 6.0%; 6.5%; and 7.0% earned the optimum asphalt level (KAO) value of 6.3%. Based on the results of this study, the use of sugar cane ash filler in AC-BC mixture meets the general specifications of Bina Marga 2010 (revision 2). The larger the percentage of filler ash of the sugarcane, the higher the value of the VFA, but at the value of VMA, VIM, stability and Flow are getting lower. For the MQ value experienced increase and decrease in the variation (100% ash) to (50% stone ash + 50% ash sugar cane) increased, again decreased in variation (25% of the stone Ash + 75% ash sugar cane), rose back in variation (100% ash sugar cane).
