Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning model on the learning motivation of class XI MAN 1 Pekanbaru students in the 2019/2020 school year. The form of research is quasi-experimental (Quasi Experiment) with the research design Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The study population is all students of class XI MAN 1 Pekanbaru with sample class XI Asc1 as an experimental class that is treated using the Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning model (TSTS) and class XI Asc2 as a control class that uses conventional learning with a number of different students namely 28 students in the experimental class and 26 students in the control class. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The study began on 7 February 2020 until 28 February 2020. The instruments and data collection techniques are test techniques. Test results were analyzed to see student motivation through descriptive statistical analysis and inferential analysis. In this study, the inferential analysis conducted is a normality test, a homogeneity test and a comparison test of average learning motivation (t-test). The results of posttest data analysis showed that the two classes namely the experimental class and the control class were normally distributed and homogeneous and showed that tcount = 2.199 and ttable = 2.00665. This means that tcount> ttable then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be obtained that there is a difference in the average learning motivation between the experimental class and the control class. From the results of this study it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Two Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning model (TSTS) on the learning motivation of class XI MAN 1 Pekanbaru students.
