Abstract

This research entitled "The Phenomenon of Parents Uploading Children's Videos on TikTok" is motivated by the increase in TikTok users during the pandemic, especially parents who are young and have toddlers. This study aims to find out about the phenomenon of parents uploading children's videos on TikTok. This research was conducted in Pekanbaru City because currently many parents use TikTok social media in Pekanbaru City. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, where the subject of this study is 4 parents who actively use TikTok and have 1000 followers and observations of the informants' TikTok accounts. The theory used is the Phenomenology of Alfred Schutz.The results show that there are several motives for parents in uploading children's videos on TikTok which are divided into 2. First, motive because or past motives related to experiences with video albums in the past and technological limitations such as insufficient cellphone memory. Second, in order to motive or future motives to existing parents, sharing parents, and memories parents.
