Abstract

Single Parent Interpersonal Communication in Educating Children from the Perspective of Islamic Education Patterns in KotaIntan Village, Rokan Hulu Regency Mia Triana Br Sitepu 179110020 Communication is the most essential thing in human relations and especially interpersonal communication in family relationships. Single parenting is the process of raising children, it's just that there is one of them, the father or the mother. In general, the family consists of father, mother and children. Fathers and mothers act as parents for their children. Educational experts in Islam such as Muhammad Qutb, Abdurrahman Al Nahlawi and Abdullah Nashlih Ulwan, have suggested methods of learning patterns in Islam, namely the exemplary method, the method of habituation, advice, supervision and punishment. In this study using a qualitative descriptive research approach. The subject of this study is a single parent who raises their child alone without the help of a partner, either due to divorce or due to the death of their partner. The data collection technique is purposive sampling. There are three data collection techniques that are often used in qualitative research data collection, namely interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study are the method of Islamic education in children namely Advice, Habituation, Supervision and Punishment is carried out through interpersonal communication, both verbal and non-verbal. Verbal that is by speaking or dialogue, reading and listening. While the non-verbal are touch, object communication, Affect Display, regulator and chronemic.
