Abstract
Online game can berapidly increased due to the use of smartphones is significantly increased as well. Game is more attractive to male rather than female because game is assumedas a masculine activity or as an entertainment for the male. Furthermore, the styreotype on female become one of the reasons why female is concerned to be the focus of this study. The styreotype on female that is, female gamers are identified negatively. This study aimed to find out the motive of female playing online game. This study implemented qualitative method and presented the data descriptively. The data was collected through observation, interview and documentation. This study used theory of phenomenology as thereference. One of the motives why female playing online game is to share hobby, to follow the trend and to gain popularity in order to be known as player. More over, online game also gives a bad impact, for example stay up late frequently.
