Abstract

Nonverbal and verbal communication is inseparable because the two complement each other in daily activities and interactions. In the process of nonverbal communication there is no spoken language but eye contact, gesture, expressions, touch, and other symbol. This applies to communication and interaction between teachers and students with school deaf. Nonverbal communication is often used to describe feelings, emotions. Nonverbal communication can strengthen and complement verbal communication. So doing face to face communication is not without the nonverbal communication contribution that can help teachers teach deaf studens Each student with deafnessis generally inclined to find it difficult to comprehend and interpret something abstract. The teacher’s role is crucial to developing the ability of these deaf students, as we know communicating with normal children. The research methods used in this study are qualitatuve descriptive and technical research methods used in data collection are observation and interviews and documentation. Based on the study, the nonverbal communication activity between teachers and students at Sekolah Luar Biasa (SDLB) Kasih Ibu Pekanbaru. And here researchers are reducing the study by studying elementary school students because of the results this presurvey student gets. In general, teachers here are more likely to optimize nonverbal learning while there are few inhibitors in the process, lack of interest in student learning, the student’s learning , the student’s volatile moods, there are multiple levels in the same roo,
