Abstract

MSEM (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) is one of the business sectors that can increase income from an area and open new jobs, especially in Maharatu and Airdingin Villages, Pekanbaru City. The development of MSMEs has increased every year. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Basically this research usesprimary data is qualitative, where primary data is obtained from field observations and the results of direct interviews with stakeholders (MSME actors) to determine the characteristics, types and distribution of MSMEs. Determination of the location of MSMEs is done by plotting based on representative data adapted to existing conditions. ADescriptive analysis is used to analyze the data that has been obtained in the form of map and table descriptions. The results of this study indicate that the distribution of MSMEs forms a clustered pattern. The placement of its location is much influenced by the use of land in the area it occupies. The distribution of MSMEs is grouped in an area with easy and affordable access. Most MSMEs occupy land that has been built where there are several activity centers such as schools, sub-district centers and others.
