Abstract

with an example of a good leader who will set an example for employees to obey and comply with regulations and create employees who have good work discipline. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the Camat in implementing employee discipline at the Langgam Subdistrict Office, Pelalawan Regency. According to the theory put forward by Pasolong, there are 5 indicators that become the author's reference in this study, a) the role of decision making, b) the role of influencing, c) the role of motivation, d) the role of interpersonal and e) the role of informational. This type of research is a descriptive survey using quantitative and qualitative methods. Actually the focus of this research is using quantitative research methods, but this research also uses qualitative research methods with the aim of supporting the accuracy of the results so that they can be accounted for and easy to understand. This data collection instrument uses a questionnaire as the main raw material to obtain real conditions. In addition, this research also uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. As for the sampling, this study used purposive sampling. The results of this study concluded that the Langgam Camat had less role in implementing employee discipline at the Langgam Camat Office. From the results of the questionnaire analysis, 38 respondents have responded to the role of the Camat in Fostering the Village Consultative Body, the value of the role category is 27.37%. This value shows that the Langgam Camat is less able to apply employee discipline at the Langgam District Office. As for the obstacles in the application of employee discipline, namely the high frequency of late arrivals to work by employees, the lack of strict sanctions for employees who violate work discipline, the Camat still does not play an active role in providing a direction, guidance and control every work carried out by the employees. employee.
