Abstract

Analysis of Lemongrass Essential Oil Agroindustry Business in South Nagari Panti, Panti District, Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra Province (Case: Fragrant Lemongrass Oil Refining Business). The Guidance of Mr. Dr. Azharuddin M Amin, M.Sc. Essential oil is obtained from processing citronella which was found from the roots, bark, leaves, flowers, and seeds. The processing of citronella into essential oil aims to increase added value. This study aims to analyze: 1) Characteristics of Business entrepreneurs and Business Profiles, 2) Availability and procurement of Raw Materials and Auxiliary Materials, Production Processes, and Production Processing Technology, 3) Costs, Production, Prices, Revenues, Efficiency, and Value Added. Case study methods was used in the Serai Wangi Essential Oil Refining Business. This research was conducted for six months starting from January to June 2022. Respondents were taken by purposive sampling, namely entrepreneurs of citronella essential oil and two workers. The types of data used are quantitative and qualitative sourced from primary data and secondary data. The results showed that the characteristics of the entrepreneurs were 45 years old (productive), an average education level of 10 years (JHS), 3 years of business experience, and family number was four persons. Lemongrass essential oil business was classified as a micro-scale business, private venture capital (Equity) Rp. 25,000,000 and has a workforce of 2 persons. The availability of raw materials was obtained directly from the owner's 2-hectare plantation with a total of 2,000 citronella clumps. The production process uses a Refining Boiler. The production technology used was classified as conventional. Production costs was Rp. 391,934/production process, Rp. 1,567,735/day, Rp. 12,541,882/month and Rp. 150,401,783/year. Production was 4.80 Kg/production process, 19.20 Kg/day, 154 kg/month, and 1.843 kg/year with a price was Rp. 120,000/kg. Net profit was Rp. 184.066/production process, Rp. 736,265/day, Rp. 5,890,118/month, and Rp. 70,782,217/year. Efficiency 1.47. The added value was Rp. 199,840/production process, Rp. 799,360/day, Rp. 6,394,880/month and Rp. 76,738,560/year with a value-added ratio of 34.69%.
