Abstract
A B S T R A C Business actors that have an adverse effect on one of the parties, the need for consumer protection is to supervise food products circulating in the market. In Indonesia, the agency that handles food product supervision is the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). The role of BPOM is to supervise the circulation of drugs and food in the market and provide guidance to business actors. The supervision carried out by BPOM on food products indirectly plays a role in protecting consumers from food products that are not suitable for consumption. The supervision of food products carried out by BPOM means that BPOM participates in protecting consumer rights, namely maintaining consumer security and safety. The main problem of this research is Consumer Legal Protection of Snacks for Elementary School Children Using Hazardous Additives Sold on Roadside Based on Law No. Sold on the side of the road based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. This type of research is an observational survey by means of a survey, namely research that takes data directly from the population / respondents by conducting interviews and questionnaires as a means of collecting data, then processing the data taken so that conclusions can be obtained using the deductive method. Meanwhile, if viewed from its nature, this research is descriptive in nature, namely research that explains in clear and detailed sentence the Legal Protection of Consumers Against Primary School Children Snacks Using Dangerous Additives Sold on the Roadside Based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. Consumer legal protection against snacks for elementary school children using dangerous additives sold on the side of the road based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection is to realize legal protection for food consumers, especially snacks for school children, but not a few business actors do not have good intentions in running its business include hazardous food additives (additives). Constraints in consumer legal protection against snacks for elementary school children using dangerous additives sold on the side of the road Based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection is that the POM Center does not have the authority to impose sanctions on naughty business actors, plus no Information provided to the public to BBPOM on naughty business actors in selling their snacks to elementary schools in Pekanbaru City.
