Abstract
Happiness is a feeling that is important in every human life. Feelings of happiness arise from positive feelings such as living life optimistically, the presence of trust, confidence, and peace. Social support is an act that is given such as empathy, attention, love, compassion, comfort and advice to fellow humans in need. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support and happiness in overseas students at UIR. Subjects in this study were 200 overseas students and were taken by using random sampling techniques and the data collection process using the social support scale and the happiness scale via google form. Hypothesis testing was carried out using SPSS 22.0 for windows with a value of r = 0.146 and p = 0.040 (p <0.05), which means that there is a relationship between social support and happiness among overseas students at the Islamic University of Riau
