Abstract
THE VALUE OF CHARACTER EDUCATION CONTAINED IN DANCE (MONTHLY CROSS) IN EXTACURICULAR ACTIVITIES IN SMP NEGERI 35 PEKANBARU TA. 2019/2020 MELA NATALLIA NPM: 166710368 ABSTRACT This study aims to describe how the value of character education contained in dance (Rentak Bulian) in extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru. Educational value, namely the value of education can be integrated in learning in each subject. Subject matter related to norms or values in each subject that need to be developed, made explicit, related to the context of everyday life. Thus, learning character values is not only at the cognitive level, but monitoring on internalization, and real experiences in the daily life of students in the community. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach. Collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects in this study consisted of 10 people consisting of 9 extracurricular members and 1 trainer as well as a supervisor. The place where the research took place was SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru, which was on the Tengku-Bey street, Simpang Tiga Village, Bukit Raya District. The theory used in this study is Listyarti (2012: 5-8). The data analysis technique used in this study was data reduction, display or presentation of later sampling data. The method used in this extracurricular activity is the lecture method. The values contained in the Rentak Bulian tariff are religious values, integrity values, independent values, mutual cooperation values and nationalist values. The results of this study are character education using the Bulian dance in extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru. It has been made through habits, traditional medicine, extracurricular dancing, the students have shown character values when dancing round the bulian.
