Abstract

ATIKA IRFIANA 153210229 ABSTRACT Surfactant retention is the ability possessed by surfactants to be absorbed into rock pores. If the surfactant is absorbed, the surfactant will be sticky and left behind in the rock matrix, so it cannot be reused. This causes a decrease in the economic value of these surfactants. Therefore, the injected surfactant must have the right formula to produce the expected retention value without ignoring the effectiveness of the surfactant to reduce Interfacial Tension. There are several parameters that can be controlled to avoid the large value of the surfactant retention, namely: Absolute Permeability, Reservoir Temperature, Co-solvent Concentration, Surfactant Concentration, Mobility Ratio , and Molecullar Weight of Surfactant. In this study, research was conducted on determining the most effective surfactant retention input parameters to be controlled to create the expected surfactant retention state without ignoring surfactants intended to reduce Interface Tension. This study uses 48 reservoir model scenarios created using the Computer Modeling Group (CMG) STARS Simulator. For data mining, this study uses the C4.5 algorithm that has been programmed in the Weka Simulator. Based on research that has been done, the results generated by manual calculations or using the Weka Simulator have the same results. The input parameter that most influences the surfactant retention value is the surfactant concentration parameter with an information gain value of 0.315. This indicates that the surfactant concentration parameter has a greater influence on the surfactant retention value than other input parameters. So, if the next researcher wants to adjust the surfactant retention value according to what they expect, the researcher can advance to regulate the retention value by controlling the surfactant concentration parameters. Due to based on experiments that have been carried out, this parameter is proven to have a stronger effect compared to the other input parameters.
