Abstract
This study aims to analyze the product quality control process and the causes of defects in the aluminum spatula production process. This type of research is discriminatory to obtain data by making direct observations at the place of business under study. Controlling product quality standards uses statistical quality control (SQC) tools, in the form of check sheets, histograms, pareto diagrams, and fishbone diagrams which aim to find out or calculate how often damage occurs and to collect data during the aluminum spatula production process. The results of data processing that have been carried out using histograms, Pareto diagrams, and fishbone diagrams, there are 3 types of product defects that often occur, such as hollow defects, cracked defects, and broken spatula handles. In data processing, the dominant defects are hollow defects, moderate defects are crack defects and the least defect is a broken spatula stem defect. Suggestions for corrective action are given by using fishbone diagrams to prevent the level of damage to aluminum spatulas in the future by applying production operational standards (SOPs) which are made so that employees are able to work more productively and the factory does not suffer losses.
