Abstract
Erna Yulita, 2022 (Thesis, Mixing of Codes in the Speech of the Community of Terusan Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency This research is about code mixing in the speech of the community of Terusan Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency. The problems discussed in this study are (1) What is the form of code-mixing in the speech of the community of Terusan Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency? (2) what are the factors that cause code-mixing events in the speeches of the community of Terusan Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency?. This study aims to determine the form of code-mixing and the factors that cause code-mixing events in the speeches of the people of the Terusan Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency. The theory used in this study is the theory of Abdul Chaer (2010) and Nababan (1991). The method used in this research is qualitative method. The results of the research found are 1) the form of code mixing in the speech of the community of Terusan Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency: code mixing in the form of words, phrases and clauses, and 2) Factors causing code mixing events in the speech of the community of Terusan Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci District. Pelalawan Regency is (a) Relaxation or informal situation, (b) there is no clear expression, and (c) showing off their learning. The data about code mixing in the speech of the community in the village of Terusan Baru, District of Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan Regency, amounted to 75 data. 67 data in the form of words, 6 data in the form of phrases and 2 data in the form of clauses. 43 data caused by factors of casualness or informal situations, 10 data caused by factors that did not have the right expression and 22 data caused by factors of showing off learning or position.
