Abstract
This study aims to determine the factors that influence the existence of badikie music in Alahan Village, Rokan IV Koto District, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. The theory used in this study is Dagun's theory, Save M. (In Gracia Destari Mujianto and Eko Raharjo (2019:129) with indicators of Work Activities, Having Facts, and Efforts to Maintain Existence. The method used in this study is descriptive analysis with using qualitative data, with data collection techniques, namely observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The subjects in this study were 10 people. The results of the findings of this study were (i) in terms of indicators of badikie music work activities in Alahan village there were still many calls the stage so that badikie music is increasingly known to the wider community, (ii) in terms of indicators of having facts, badikie music in Alahan village has its own characteristics in the musical instruments used, the organizational structure of the group, the costumes used, and the performances of the badikie music, (iii) viewed from the aspect of the effort made in maintaining its existence, the group badikie music in the village of Alahan opens training for the public so that the existence of badikie music survives. .
