Abstract

Analysis of Income, Household Expenditures and Welfare Levels of Rice Farmers in Siak Kecil district, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province Under the Guidance of Mr. Dr. Zulhelmy, SE., M. Si, Ak, CA as Supervisor I and Mr. Dr, Fahrial, SP, SE, ME as Supervisor II. One of the goals of national development is the welfare of the community and the intellectual life of the nation. The purpose of this study was to analyze (1) farmer characteristics and farm profile, (2) income structure, (3) expenditure structure, and (4) farmer welfare. The method used is a survey method. The analytical methods used are qualitative and quantitative methods of Income Structure Development (PSP), Farmer Expenditure Share (PEP), Farmer Household Purchasing Power (DBRP), Subsistence Exchange Rate (NTS), Farmer Household Income Exchange Rate (NTPRP) and Line Poverty (GK). The results show that farmers are in the productive age category, land area is 0.80 ha, local varieties are Sadani and own capital. The largest farmer's income comes from non-rice farming, the largest household expenditure is non -food expenditure and addition production capital goods . Farmers' welfare level is measured from PSP, 76.35% comes from non-rice paddy income, PEP for food is the largest for grains and side dishes/vegetables, DBRP is 679.96%, NTS is 53.65 % and NTPRP in this case the NTPRP for lowland rice in Bengkalis Regency is 2.36. This indicates that farmers' income from lowland rice farming is greater than farmers' expenditures (household expenses and farm production costs). This means that the farmer households in the research area are prosperous. In addition, lowland rice farmers in the study area are above the poverty line with a per capita income greater than the poverty line in Bengkalis Regency, which also means prosperous farmers.
